About the artist — Nadine Reulings.
Biography
Nadine Reulings is a fine-art photographer working from a studio in Kerkrade. Her images move between portrait, interior, and still life — held together by a single, quiet gesture of attention.
§ Statement
— on making, and not-making.
My photographs are an argument against the loudness of images.
I photograph what remains after the event — the room, the fabric, the residue of light. A photograph is not a window; it is a room the viewer can enter and stand inside.
I am not interested in decisive moments. I am interested in what stays. The work is slow, quiet, and intended to be seen slowly, in silence.

§ Studio
The room the work is made in.
A north-facing studio in Kerkrade. Contact sheets pinned to the wall. Prints in progress on the table. Books, always open.
— a good studio is a good silence.
